Today I was not “feeling” like working out. Mostly because I was ingrained with my daily tasks and super focused.
When I planned out my week, weight lifting was scheduled for today.
My brain started to give me all kinds of good reasons to just skip it.
“You are getting so much accomplished. Stay focused.”
“What’s one workout going to do?”
“What’s the harm in missing a workout?”
And on and on.
Then, I remembered that I started a new way of setting my fitness goals and tracking once I have completed a workout that would leave an obvious miss on my planner that I would have to look at for the rest of the month.
So just like Mel Robins would want me to do, I said “5-4-3-2-1” and boom 💥 got it done. 💪🏻
Find what motivates YOU to complete the goals that you set for yourself.
For me, “checking it off the list” gives me the dopamine response I need to make it happen.
